the
drawing room » welcome

In years gone by, Lord Murray's legendary four o'clock
tea-parties would regularly entertain a host of the
most acclaimed writers, artists, explorers and anthropologists
of the day - including Lord Byron, Sir Walter Scott
and Isaac Disraeli.
In what came to be coined as The
Four O' Clock Friends by Scott, John Murray II and
guests would regularly gather at Murray's Albemarle
Street home exchanging new ideas, inventions and explorations,
becoming part of a tradition that marked the John
Murray publishing family for over 200 years.
Here at Discovered Authors, we want
you to belong to our community of authors in the same
way - sharing your writing - and why not your thoughts,
ideas, inspirations and aspirations with other authors
and readers right here in our Drawing Room - come
on in...
The Drawing Room will be launched
in the autumn - with a party and everything!
