Publishing Process : Book Sales & Distrubition

We deal with the book trade on a daily basis, with all of our titles made available through the traditional mainstream booksales routes as well as through the online market.

We are unique as although we print to the demand, we also supply small stocks to the major wholesalers and selected retailers, so that our books can be in stock in bookshops on sale or return as well as being available on demand.

All our contracts include the essential sales and distribution listings you need, and you have the option to upgrade to a global distibution package at any time.

Sales and Distribution Listings

Once you're officially on your way to becoming a Discovered Author under any of our imprints, our trade & retail teams get busy preparing and sending off forthcoming publication details of your title to the booktrade in the UK and Ireland.

First your ISBN will be registered with Nielsen Bookdata, who keep a record of all published titles. Once processed, the information can take 7-10 working days to appear on the Nielsen database and will then be sent out to all book retailers, wholesalers and online points of sale.

The big bookshops and wholesalers, such as Waterstones, Borders and Gardners, take an automatic nightly feed of new data from Nielsen, so this should happen fairly swiftly on confirmation of registration, however, many independent bookshops use a monthly manual update from a disk, so this can take longer – wise to keep in mind when planning local press.

If you have requested an AI (Advance Information) pack, this will also be prepared at this stage, and once your registration is completed and we have your cover image ready, be sent out to your local bookshops well in time for publication date.
